PRESS: Economy ministry sees Russia’s inflation at 5–6% in 2023
MOSCOW, Jan 30 (PRIME) -- The Economic Development Ministry expects Russian inflation to amount to 5–6% in 2023, Izvestiya daily reported on Monday quoting First Deputy Minister Ilya Torosov.
The ministry’s previous forecast expects inflation of 5.5% this year.
“We expect that the growth of prices will be close to the forecast this year at 5–6%,” he said.
“These figures are realistic taking into account the high base of 2022 and economic recession. One should also understand that this is an average indicator that may differ greatly from sector to sector.”
